10 Strategies to Be More Confident in 30 Days

Do you struggle with self-doubt? Do you worry if you’re not good enough, not smart enough or not experienced enough to do the things you WANT to do.  Do you hesitate to try new things for fear of failure?  If any of this resonates, stay tuned because today I’m going to share how I became a more confident person within just 30 days.

You can listen to the podcast on Apple, Spotify or Anchor OR read the the blog post below.

Recently I did a Law of Attraction experiment on the topic of confidence.  I did the experiment for 30 days and it actually worked!  Am I the fearless warrior that I desire to be? No, not yet, but  I AM definitely more confident now than I’ve ever been and I want to tell you what I learned over the last 30 days that so you can become more confident too!

[As a reference, I took an inventory of my confidence at the start of the experiment and I gave myself a 6 out of 10].

The areas I felt like I could use more confidence were:
- Public speaking (including video and podcasting)
- Self-worth & knowing my value
- Reaching out to people instead of waiting for them to reach out to me
- Feeling Smart
- Ability to reach my financial goals
- Ability to reach my health goals
- Caring what other people think about me

Before I get into the good stuff, I just want to make sure that everyone has a basic understanding of the Law of Attraction and how we can use it to get what we want from life. So just in case you’re not aware, The Law of Attraction is a philosophy that suggests that positive thoughts attract positive feelings, circumstances and results and negative thoughts attract negative feelings, circumstances and results.

So that begs the question.....Do I attract confidence by thinking more confidently? The answer is YES. I understand that that may be challenging if you don’t know how confident people think and behave so I’m going to share some tips and strategies I used and also let you know how they worked out for me.

SIDE NOTE: I want to mention that the mere decision to do this experiment attracted a Confidence Masterclass into my life the very next day!  The day after I announced I was doing this experiment, my coach announced she was doing an online event on the topic of confidence.  Coincidence maybe, but I believe it was the Law of Attraction already in action.

10 STRATEGIES THAT HELPED ME BECOME MORE CONFIDENT IN 30 DAYS

STRATEGY #1 - I GOT INTO THE VIBRATION OF CONFIDENCE
If you’ve ever seen an Emotional Frequency Chart, your note that Self Esteem is mid-high on the scale. Therefore, to be aligned with Self Esteem/Confidence I needed to feel mid-high vibe.

Some of the things I did to help me stay high vibe were:
- Surrounding myself with high-vibe people
- Listening to music that is inspiring to me or pumps me up
- Playing games with my kids that make me laugh like Kids Against Humanity, Pictionary or Hedbanz

STRATEGY #2 - I TOOK ACTION
I did some things that scared me. I created a bunch of Instagram reels with my face on them or me actually speaking or even dancing in them.  I went “live” on social media twice. I reached out to people to invite them to a 3-day Manifestation Workshop that I really believed in even though I was worried they would think I was trying to “sell” them. And the most impactful thing I did was run a wine tour for a friend on a moment’s notice without having an experience at all because she was out of the country and her employee called her saying she couldn’t do the tour because she was very ill.

Near the end of the 30 days, I attended Brendan Buchard’s GrowthDay Confidence Masterclass and one of the speakers Anthony Trucks said the most profound thing……..Confidence comes from the action.  You get confident after you take the actions where you have fear.

Now I know that when I feel fear, it’s a sign that I need to take action and that more confidence lives on the other side of that action.

STRATEGY #3 - I IDENTIFIED & ADDRESSED MY LIMITING BELIEFS
Coach and motivational speaker Sandra Chuma says, there are no limits.  Instead of focusing on the fact that I’m not confident in the areas of my life that I already mentioned, I identified areas in my life where I did feel confident. Then I used that feeling to help motivate me to strive for more confidence in the areas I was looking to improve myself in.

STRATEGY #4 - I AFFIRMED HOW I WANTED TO BE & FEEL
As part of my morning ritual in the last 30 days, I affirmed the confidence I wanted to possess, as well as other traits confident people seem to have.

I affirmed:
- I am confident
- I am brave
- I am fearless
- I can do anything I put my mind to

STRATEGY #5 - I SET SMALL GOALS FOR MYSELF
Ed Mylett says that every time you achieve a goal it helps you build your confidence. I decided to create small goals for myself that were very attainable to help me build my confidence. For example, I would say hi to every stranger I passed on the street (even when I was at a conference in Toronto).  Some didn’t say hi back, but oh well.  I also asked for an appetizer that was no longer on the menu at one of my favourite restaurants to be made because a friend and I really wanted it.  They said no, but I decided to ask despite fearing the rejection and adopted the attitude of there’s no harm in asking.

STRATEGY #6 - I MADE A VOW TO STOP COMPARING MYSELF TO OTHERS
I decided that moving forward, the only person I’d be in competition with is myself.  I read in Chasing Excellence by Ben Bergeron that whenever you do something you should focus on your intention and your efforts. Ben is a coach of elite athletes and uses the example of Olympic athlete Katrin Davidsdottir and other athletes to demonstrate that if you have good intentions and you put forth great effort, do your best but you don’t win, you’re still a winner for all of the efforts you made and how much you accomplished along the way. I decided that from now on I’m going to grade my intention and efforts, rather than my accomplishments. That way my confidence can’t be destroyed if the result I want isn’t achieved.

STRATEGY #7 - I STARTED VISUALIZING MYSELF AS A CONFIDENT PERSON
This is a technique I read about in PsychoCybernetics by Maxwell Maltz a few years ago, but my coach Kathleen Cameron really drilled it home for me as she talks about this all the time in her teachings.  Almost every morning I visualized myself as a confident person to help reprogram my mind.  I visualized myself walking tall and smiling.  I visualized myself speaking on a stage to thousands of people, I visualized myself cutting the ribbon at a ceremony celebrating my NY Times bestselling book.  I visualized myself mingling with wealthy people, I visualized myself in the body I had 25 years ago.  I visualized and I imagined how it would feel to be that confident and I held onto that feeling as long as I could so that I could embody confidence throughout my day as much as possible.

STRATEGY #8 - I USED MEDITATION, HYPNOTHERAPY & EFT TAPPING WHENEVER I FELT STUCK
When I was really feeling a lack of confidence I’d mediate, use EFT tapping or hypnotherapy, to help me clear the negative thoughts. Another one of my coaches Marley Rose Harris has a program that really helps with overcoming negative beliefs and promotes mental wellness. It’s called Manifestation Club and it was so helpful to me.

STRATEGY #9 - I MADE A DECISION TO BELIEVE I’M CONFIDENT & ACT ACCORDINGLY
I’m still working on this one, but the funny thing about belief is that whatever we believe to be true for us IS true for us. So the more I believe I am confident I will behave confidently.

STRATEGY #10 - I RESEARCHED CONFIDENCE AND WAS OPEN TO THE RESOURCES THAT CAME TO ME
Sometimes I attracted a workshop, sometimes a book, a podcast or even just a quote on social media on the topic of confidence. I paid attention to these resources and put the ideas I learned into action.

After 30 days of implementing these strategies I truly do feel more confident.  Not a 10 out of 10, but I’m definitely sitting around a 7 or 8 instead of a 6 and that’s pretty damn good in my opinion. Now that I know these strategies work, I’m committed to practicing confidence and making it a habit.

I hope you’ll take this information and USE it.  Don’t just collect in your brain as a resource, I encourage you to actually try some or all of these suggestions.  I can’t promise you results, but I can promise that the amount of confidence you experience will be a direct result of your efforts. :)

If you have any questions about the information I’ve shared, books I’ve read or programs I’ve taken, send me a message.  I’d love to talk to you.

I hope this was helpful and I hope that the next time we connect you’ll be one step closer to maximum confidence.
